Now that the film, The Essential Church (a hash of anti-intellectual Protestant propaganda and personality worship camouflaged in sickening pseudo-spirituality) is available on Prime, it seems a fitting time to re-post my critical two-part review. This won’t sit well with the acolytes of various internet demagogues, but…Christ does actually share his authority with Caesar, and the authority of the state does extend over the church.
